Dessert 3, 2012 – Eton Mess

Why waste broken meringues when you can use them in Eton Mess. I had left over whipped cream from making the meringues and a handful of strawberries from the garden which weren’t really enough to do anything with. Mixed all together and you have a dreadful looking but very tasty dessert. I popped in some chopped up white chocolate buttons for good measure and used them on top with halved strawberries for decoration.

Locally its called ‘Eke Mess’ (as in Eketahuna) but its really just pinching the Eton idea. I adore pavlova and meringues so this is my idea of a heaven dessert.
